The Unfinished Empire

Environment Art for the game The Unfinished Swan. All of the original 3D art was made by myself and Miriam Nagi, with Art Direction by Hokyo Lim. This was initially released back in 2012 on PS3, though it has since been ported to ps4/vita/windows/iOS by other teams.

The Unfinished Empire chapter is what got me the nickname "The Seamstress" on the team (it didn't really stick past Swan's release since most of the team was new for Finch, but it was funny while it lasted). The level meshes for terrain/buildings/some props were sewn together into huge meshes so that they could have have no hidden or intersecting geo and optimized unique (non-overlapping) UVs for clean AO baking. Since the AO bake was the majority of the texture and it needed to be much higher resolution than typical AO (at the time) to look really clean, it was very important that there be as little wasted UV space as possible.
